Quantum

Principles of Quantum Information Science are being used to build engineering solutions to extremely complex problems in computing, communications, infrastructure maintenance, logistics, environment and climate research, sensing, chemistry, cryptography and mechanics. Three decades of research into the physics of the subatomic quantum world  is offering the potential to greatly enhance our technology and economy. Quantum technologies, for example, are enabling a new generation of atomic clocks and ultra-precise sensors with applications ranging from natural resource exploration and biomedical diagnostics to navigation in a GPS-blind environment.

Autonomous vehicle navigation, weather prediction, transportation planning, pharmaceutical development, and secure financial communications are also among the many potential applications of quantum technology.
